Culinary Tours and visits to Heritage Sites – Sigirya and Minneriya from Colombo (2 Days)
Day 1
On route Visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.PM visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress; a UNESCO World Heritage site deemed the eighth wonder of the world. Undertake a Sigiriya village tour by riding on an oxen cart and experience village life. Witness an enjoyable traditional cooking demonstration that teaches you the basics of Sri Lankan cuisine. Delight your taste buds with a home cooked lunch; made over a wood-fire and served on fragrant lotus leaves placed over woven trays. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dambulla.
Day 2 Golden Cave Temple Dambulla
After breakfast, enter the historic caves of the Golden Temple of Dambulla, dating back to the 1st century BC. View the ancient murals depicting the life story of Lord Gautama Buddha. PM Visit the Minneriya National Park This safari takes you on a ride through the Minneriya National Park. Enjoy the sight of over 150 elephants congregating in one place. In addition to elephants, get a chance to also see many mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians in the scrublands, forests and other areas.
Return to Colombo.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast and you will begin your boat excursion in Negombo lagoon. Catamaran Boat Ride and Lagoon Fishing Session with Local Guidance and Sri Lankan Fishing Techniques are the next two activities on the itinerary. A small town may be reached after a fishing trip through the Mangroves Meet a local family in the village and work with them to cook the seafood that you bought from the market earlier that day.
